Qualifications: Education at the Master’s level in human behavior, psychology, behavior modification,

and psychology preferred. Training and experience in behavior intervention and

management experience in special education settings. Demonstrated skills in a variety of

behavioral intervention techniques; development of specific individual intervention

plans; and detailed written behavioral observations. Knowledge of child development,

learning acquisition, behavior modification, behavioral interventions, and child

social/emotional/behavioral dysfunctions. Ability to communicate effectively verbally

and in writing. Ability to adjust to different environments.

Description: The Behavior Specialist assists the program staff in screening and assessment of child

behavior. The Behavior Specialist observes children in both residential and classroom

settings, identifies children "at risk" for impairment in social-emotional functioning in

the residence, in the classroom and the community. The Behavior Specialist consults with

parents, teaching, and resource staff on a variety of behavioral management issues and

provides on-going behavioral intervention in the residential classroom settings.

Seven Hills Devens Academy in Devens, MA is presently looking to hire a graduate

student in ABA who is preparing to become a board certified behavior analyst to work

with children and adolescents with behavior disorders and other severe special needs in

a private school and residential program. Our program serves adolescents with

intellectual disabilities and psychiatric disorders. Some also have autistic disorder. The

behavior analyst would be the primary consultant to the lead teacher on issues of

behavioral and educational programming, staff development, and a consultant to the

teacher on developing educational goals.



The ideal candidate would be a graduate student in a BACB approved program of studies

who is seeking a paid position that would allow for field training and supervision as well.

Supervision by board-certified behavior analyst and licensed psychologist will be

provided. Applicants should have experience with children with severe special needs,

autistic disorder, and behavioral programming.



Some schedule flexibility in order to attend classes and other graduate student
